Albane Buriel is the founder of Art to face consulting. She is a doctoral candidate in education and a member of CREAD (Centre de recherche sur l'enseignement, les apprentissages et la didactique). With a wealth of experience in intercultural mediation and arts education for different audiences worldwide, she is a specialist in humanitarian action, artistic practices and education in situations of emergency and extreme violence.

 

She is a consultant to humanitarian organisations as an advisor and trainer of staff working in psychosocial support and non-formal education, recently in Mozambique, Iraq and Syria. Albane Buriel is currently working on a thesis in her fields of interest to understand the artistic experiences of young people (socio emotional learning, creativity, etc.) through the professional practices, in emergency education initiatives. She has recently created a MOOC "Arts, Armed Conflict and Humanitarian Aid". This online course aims to develop skills and professional practices in this emerging field. 


Her professional projects combine: 1) expertise in the use of artistic tools in humanitarian work, 2) research, particularly in cooperative educational engineering, and action-research and 3) analysis of the contexts of adversity (war and displacement) and political ideologies, violence and their impact on education systems and schooling.
