Albane Buriel is a researcher and practitioner specializing in arts, education, and humanitarian action in conflict and post-conflict settings. With over a decade of field and academic experience across Syria, Iraq, West-bank, Yemen, Burkina-Faso, and Mozambique, she bridges cultural and artistic practices with education in emergencies, psychosocial support, and peacebuilding. She holds a PhD in Education Sciences from Rennes 2 University, where her doctoral research explored resilience and empowerment through arts-based biographical devices for vulnerable youth in fragile contexts.

Currently serving as founder of Art to Face, Albane leads multi-stakeholder initiatives with NGOs, artists, and universities. She has collaborated with NGOs, designing research-action projects, educational resources, and advocacy frameworks. Her expertise spans cooperative didactics, ethnographic fieldwork, creative pedagogy, and the development of innovative tools such as MOOCs, guides, and exhibitions.

Albane is passionate about positioning arts not as a luxury but as a fundamental lever for resilience, memory, and social justice. She has partnered with local cultural actors in Syria to document post-war memory work, and worked with youth in Iraq and Romania on co-created artistic narratives of healing and recognition.

Her leadership blends rigorous research with cultural sensitivity and creative vision. Whether building international observatories, mentoring master’s students, or engaging displaced communities through arts, Albane centers dignity, imagination, and collective empowerment in every context.
